תיעוד פעילות מעבר לגדר הישראלית-סורית
בדצמבר 2022 הצטרפתי לפעילות מבצעית של קורס קציני השריון (חטיבה 460) בגבול ישראל-סוריה.
תפקידי היה לתעד את הפעילות עבור חדשות 14 לכתבה ששודרה במהדורה המרכזית, שהציגה את מיומנות הצוות וחשיבות הכוח המשוריין בגבולות המדינה.
שובצתי כאיש צוות חמישי בטנק, כלי צפוף ורועש שבו כל פעולה מתואמת.
עבודת התיעוד כללה התמודדות עם מגבלות טכניות ופיזיות, תוך ניצול שטחים קטנים לצילום בזוויות שממחישות את עוצמת הכלי והפעילות עצמה.
המשימה התבצעה בשטח הררי עם קווי ראייה משתנים ואיומים מתמידים. רעשי המנוע, תנועת הכלי, והצורך לעבוד בתיאום עם הצוות יצרו אתגרים ייחודיים.
עבור הטנקיסטים תנאי השטח חייבו תפעול זהיר של הטנק ובחירת נתיבים מדויקים. עבורי כמתעד, האתגר היה כפול; מצד אחד, לעקוב אחר מהלך הפעולה המבצעית ולהבין את המשמעות של כל צעד, ומצד שני, לתעד באופן שיספק תיעוד אותנטי ומדויק לשידור.
Documenting an Operation Beyond the Israeli-Syrian Border
In December 2022, I joined an operational activity of the Armored Corps Officers' Course (Brigade 460) along the Israeli-Syrian border.
My role was to document the mission for Channel 14 News for a report aired in the main news broadcast, highlighting the crew's proficiency and the importance of armored forces along the nation's borders.
I was assigned as the fifth crew member in a tank—a cramped and noisy vehicle where every action is coordinated.
The documentation work involved overcoming technical and physical challenges, utilizing small spaces to capture angles that showcase the power of the vehicle and the operation itself.
The mission took place in mountainous terrain with shifting lines of sight and constant threats. Engine noise, vehicle movements, and the need to coordinate with the crew created unique challenges.
For the tank operators, the terrain required precise navigation and careful operation of the tank. For me, as the documentarian, the challenge was twofold: tracking the operational flow to understand the significance of each step while producing authentic and accurate footage for broadcast.
